From arquitecture to jewelery

Carlota grew up in the Caribbean, in Caracas, surrounded by architectural drawings and objects with history. Her parents, both architects, and her aunt, whose life unfolded among jewels and antiques, shaped an environment where beauty, detail and craftsmanship were part of everyday life. It was at that intersection of worlds where her sensitivity to form, material and the stories each piece can hold was born.

Although she trained as an architect, jewelry was always present beneath the surface.
When her aunt’s shop closed, Carlota didn’t see an end, but a beginning: how could those treasures be reimagined through her own lens?

After several years working as an architect, she decided to make a shift and dedicate herself fully to what truly moved her. Yet her structural eye, her love for proportion and clean lines continue to guide her creative language.

Carlota Guardia's Creative Journey

In New York, she refined her technique, studied jewelry design and presented her first pieces in the markets of SoHo, surrounded by raw energy and uninhibited creativity.

Back in Europe, she lived in Madrid and Barcelona, earned a master’s degree in Ephemeral Architecture and resumed her jewelry studies at the School of Arts and Crafts. In Lausanne, Switzerland, motherhood marked the beginning of a new
phase of exploration, specialized training and the quiet shaping of what would become Carlota Guardia Jewelry.

The brand was officially founded in 2017, while she was living in the United States. Since then, it has been featured in publications such as GQ and Vanity Fair, and has drawn the attention of those who seek more than beauty in a piece of jewelry: meaning, identity and permanence.

Carlota designs for women who are sophisticated, discerning and deeply sensitive.

For her, a jewel with intention enhances who we are within, and what we choose to reflect outward.
